Heather Nailed It! Old Esme Is Back

The General Hospital recap for Wednesday, January 24, 2024, features Heather ratting out Esme to Laura…but for good reason. And, she was right to do so!

Also in this episode, Curtis threw Trina a farewell party, and Spencer told Trina and Joss all about Nik and Esme. Meanwhile, Esme was questioned by Kevin. Additionally, Spinelli got some peace of mind from Cody and a reality check about his own feelings. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.

Help Me, Help Esme

Heather (Alley Mills) called Laura (Genie Francis) to the prison for a rather enlightening chat about Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl). She told Laura all about Esme having her memories back and even encouraged her to push for prosecution! Her reasoning for all this? Esme would be with HER, where she belonged.

Laura was shocked by the whole thing. Why would Esme lie after all this time? She also worried about what would happen now. Heather warned her Esme would be out for revenge and was sure Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Trina (Tabyana Ali) would be the top targets.

As for Esme, she was at the office stealing the company’s card and trying to book plane tickets. That’s where Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) found her. He outright asked her why she didn’t run to the cops about Nik and Ace. Esme reasoned there was nothing the cops could do. It wasn’t technically kidnapping.

Kevin offered up his support and even Laura’s too. They would be on her side, he assured. Esme wasn’t so sure about that. Kevin asked if Esme wanted to change. Yes. She did. Kevin was more than happy to help her do just that. Except, Esme didn’t want to change. She bashed him over the head with a vase instead!

Bon Voyage!

As for Trina and Spencer, they spent time with their loved ones at the Savoy. Curtis (Donnell Turner) was fresh out of the hospital but he didn’t let the surgery stop him from throwing his daughter a bon voyage party.

It was during this shindig that Spencer let Trina and Joss (Courtney Fulk) know what went down. He handed Ace to Nik to save his little brother. The girls were blown away, and even more so when he told them about his suspicions that Esme remembered everything. Joss promised to get the truth out of her while the pair were in Paris.

As the party wound down, Trina spent time with each person she loved. Curtis was proud of her and encouraged her to reach for the stars. Portia (Brook Kerr) was proud too. It took all she had to hold back tears as they discussed Trina leaving.

Oh, Baby!

Meanwhile, Molly (Kristen Vaganos) showed up at Kristina’s (Kate Mansi) apartment with loads of organic groceries. Was she being a bit pushy? Sure. But, Kristina took it well. She even let Molly talk her into taking a pregnancy test…just to check. The sisters got great news when it was positive!

Speaking of gift givers, Cody (Josh Kelly) showed up at Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms) with new cowboy boots for James. Unfortunately, they were too big. Fortunately, his stepping out to call for an exchange gave Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) a chance to speak with him alone.

He all but accused Cody of going after Maxie romantically. Cody promptly set him straight. Maxie and the kids were like family to him. He definitely isn’t a romantic rival. And, then he called Spinelli out on HIS feelings. It was clear he was still carrying a torch for the mother of his child.
