NEW PROJECT 1965: A New Yellowstone Prequel Series Revealed! – EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

‘Yellowstone’ Prequel Series ‘1965’: Everything Fans Need .

Latest reports indicate that Kurt Russell is likely leading a Yellowstone spinoff series, and it is, in fact, reported to be the 6666 contemporary storyline. Previously, news about Kevin Costner refusing to film the final episodes spread and further revealed that the series is branching out to more spinoffs.

Unconfirmed articles claim that Russell is not on track to lead one of the spinoffs that are in development.

With Costner busy on his current projects, it’s being reported that the Yellowstone main series will end after the second part of Season 5. Thus, Paramount Network is keen on expanding the Yellowstone universe.

One of the ways for this expansion is for the four sixes ranch, visited in the last two seasons of the main series, to have its own run.

KURT RUSSELL COULD ACTUALLY LAND THE NEW YELLOWSTONE SPINOFF SERIES

Apparently, according to Giant Freakin Robot, the series will not be like the other two spinoffs that Yellowstone already has. Particularly, 6666 will take place in the present-day timeline.

Previous spinoffs, 1883 and 1923, showcased past generations of the Dutton family taking on their own set of challenges as they claimed and kept their hold of the land.

Four sixes will be led by Russell, although no official statement is available from Paramount or the creator of the main series, Taylor Sheridan. It is growing to be more likely, though, that the series is developing more stories bringing back the Western style of Ranch life storytelling.

Some fans are also thinking that even if Costner isn’t in future seasons, they can pass on his patriarchal status to another actor already in the series. Someone who has always shown to be his character’s successor anyway. That person is Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler in the main series.

As for 6666, that series would definitely need someone to lead its cast. Primetime Emmy-nominated actor Kurt Russell has a long list of projects under his acting belt.

Notable western titles are 1976’s The Quest, 1993’s Tombstone, 2015’s Bone Tomahawk, and The Hateful Eight. From those four titles alone, it is without a doubt that Russell will fit perfectly in the world of Yellowstone.

In terms of storyline, the ranch itself is a treasure trove of stories. Taylor Sheridan, representing a real estate group, actually bought the real-life 6666 ranch in Texas. The colossal 266,000+ acres of land, which is bigger than some countries like Dominica or Barbados, has already been featured in previous seasons of the main series.

Now, with its own spinoff, the rich heritage of the ranch culture of America could be showcased more elaborately.

THE NEW YELLOWSTONE SPINOFF SERIES WILL OWN THE ACTUAL RANCH

In its press release, Paramount Pictures said that the 6666 series would focus on the following aspects of the ranch:

Founded when Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666. Still operating as it did two centuries before, and encompassing an entire county, the 6666 is where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing… The 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavor to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world-class cowboys are born and made.

Russell’s previous experience in westerns should give him the tools necessary should the series demand thriller, drama, action and even suspense genres. They don’t need to worry about him on his cowboy skills, from horseback riding to gun slinging; he’s got all of that in the bag.

While the series premise and plot are not yet available, fans of the Yellowstone series already have expectations and a working idea of what the new series would look like. And, of course, they can’t wait to see what they have in store.
