GH Comings and Goings: William Lipton Is Back As Cameron Webber

General Hospital fans were heartbroken when William Lipton left the role of Cameron Webber last year so he could focus on his college studies as Cam did the same. Except, Cam chose to attend college far away from Port Charles.

Now, news comes that Lipton is headed back to the soap where he spent his teenage years. Sadly, this will be a brief appearance for now as Cameron returns home from school in California to attend his best friend Spencer’s funeral.

Poor Spencer met a watery grave on January 31 when he plunged into the River Seine with Esme Prince. Both Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Avery Kristen Pohl are now off the soap, but Chavez is expected to return when Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez story wraps filming.

The last we saw Cam he had recently broken up with longtime girlfriend Josslyn after she cheated on him and chose to be with Sonny’s mob enforcer, Dex. A heartbroken Cam chose to take advantage of a soccer scholarship at Stamford to begin his life anew.

Will Josslyn and Cameron have a fraught encounter or will they come together in support of their good friend Trina as she mourns the loss of her beloved Spencer?
